ABOUT MURCHFIELD

DSC00546.JPG
Chairman's Welcome

Murchfield Community Centre was built in the early 80s by the Vale of Glamorgan County Council. It was built to provide a centre for the south side of the village of Dinas Powys.  The centre is managed and leased by a committee of trustees on behalf of, and from, the county council. The committee pay the bills and keep the centre in good order.

An extension was built in the early 90s which included the 'Resource Centre' built primarily to accomodate Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern who had previously been based at the health centre on Cardiff Rd.

The centre remained unchanged until 2018 when, through the hard work of the volunteers a successful bid was made for funding from the Stronger Communities Fund. Both sets of toilets were completely refurbished and a new floor laid in the main hall.

The centre was built for the whole community to use and is available to hire on an hourly basis. We hope you enjoy your visit to Murchfield.

Sincerely,

John Fanshaw
