Memory Cafe
Dementia Friendly Dinas Powys
Our Memory cafe is part of a joint initiative with Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern. It's open to anyone who is affected by memory loss or early stage dementia. That includes family, friends and carers. It's an informal social event with time to chat and get advice from the organisations we work with.
Activities include games, art and outings. We can also provide tablets and help with computing problems including email, skype, apps and games.

Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern
Based at Murchfield, DPVC trustees make sure that the charity fulfills its mission statement of Local Help For Local People. Community transport, wellbeing and Befriending services are all run from their office at Murchfield Community Centre. Contact them on 029 20513700
Memory Cafe
2nd and 4th Friday of every month. 10am to 12 noon
Digital
Would you like to keep in touch with family and friends who live far away? Our Digital Volunteers can help you to get started with email, Facebook, skype and other social media. Bring your own device to our Memory Cafe or borrow our Lenovo Tablets pre loaded with games and apps.
Art Class
Our art group for older people and those affected by dementia runs alongside the Memory Cafe on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month. All materials are provided free and we serve tea, coffee and cake while you paint. It's an informal group with advice and help when needed. Run in partnership with NEXUS.
Dementia Friendly Dinas Powys
Dementia Friendly Dinas Powys aims to make Dinas Powys a safe and welcoming place for all those affected by dementia. Murchfield has two trained Dementia Champions who can run Dementia Friends Awareness Sessions either at the community centre or at your place of work.
